It is not a big issue when you are talking about a small animal but if the animal is a horse, you will need more items (tack) and horse saddle blankets are one of the more important items. There will be more cost involved as these items are usually not cheap. However, the horse saddle blankets cannot be omitted. They are necessary because they prevent the saddle from slipping off the horse’s back. It will also prevent the saddle from cutting into the skin of the horse and hurting it.

Not only will a cheap saddle blanket it not last long, it will also not provide the necessary protection for your horse as it is usually very thin so the saddle will still cut into the skin of your horse which could lead to potentially expensive vet bills. It will be more beneficial in the long run if you get a better quality blanket and these tend to be more expensive.
